Thumb this up - Download world community grid on your computer. When you run it you are doing scientific research towards a cancer cure and a genome project that could result in a way to slow aging. Join team Endthedisease after you sign up then post on my team stats video with your username and I will put you in my social media network and try to help you go further with this. This is a great way to help push this type of scientific research forward. Also a contest with prizes will come soon.
Vire 70: Very bad policy to start a phrase with "You are wrong", but that's your problem, not mine. Any social worker will explain you that after 45-50 years of age you start feeling society in general is passing you by and you are becoming invisible. After that and getting even older your are facing (unless you are extremely rich) penuries of all kinds: low income, illnesses, lack of friendship (young people wan't nothing to do with the elderly, etc). Not worthy to discuss in this minimal way.The problem with living too long is the emotional side, not the physical part. After several decades on this world and having experimented all one can experiment as a human being, one ends up asking the question of that old song: "Is this all there is my friend?" and as the 300 years old protagonist Elina Makropulos of the opera "The Makropulos Case", one decides it's not worthy to keep going. Boredom and repetition can be very powerful motives to end it all, even being wrinkle free.
You're wrong. No one has lived long enough to become bored with the world - if they're bored it's because they're physically or mentally unable to seek out new things, things that exist in unimaginable abundance - not because those things aren't there. Even if your point was right, it would still be trivial. Giving people the opportunity to survive as long as they like is still right - and it's also ensuring they enjoy the years that they have, not just living longer.
I take Chaga capsules, Chlorella/Spirulina, Turmeric, Hemp oil every morning... hope this is wise. Also what are your views on Cannabis? Does Cannabis have an effect on ageing as I have read that it slows down brain activity for want of a basic term. Would this have an effect... (I do not smoke Cannabis believing this or anything just curious).
Yes interesting observation - there have been many delays in seeing biotech innovation. But I am seeing an acceleration in many different areas of health care research - take oncolytic viruses such as SEPREHVIR (HSV-1716), for example, which is in clinical trials, aiming to treat or cure cancer. See my channel here on YouTube for 5 videos on this - pjvdixon or my main globalchange and dot com site.

What would you be most excited or most worried about if scientists discover a low cost and efficient way to enable people to live an extra 10-20 years on average?

U CAN'T AND Will NOT STOP AGING. Even in 2050 They will not fine a cure to it, so just relax and enjoy the life u hv while helping the humanity to make a better future before we die.Well, if you live in a developed nation and have a reasonable education and standard of living, the fact is that in the 9 months beween your comment and this reply, the life expectancy of an average woman in your street has already increased by 9 weeks. For years, women in Japan for example have gained an extra year on average every 4 years.Excuse my poor languge but what I understood was, there is a step made in this field. Still what you discribed a step isn't consider an answer to the problem.I do see this from a religion view and if I try to do it from a scientific way we should had solved this matter centuries ago. The sciense we have is an accumulative knowlage since ages and still people didn't slove this so accept it, creatures are condemned to age and die this is something irreversible.
Yes whatever happens, humans will still die, even if life expectancy is much longer with medical help. The question is whether you think we should use science to prolong life for many years? Most people think yes if there is good quality of life (for themselves) but worry about everyone else in their community getting hold of the same technology because of the social impact... What do you think?
Well if science can prolong life in a good quality of life as you said then yes I do agree with you. But if this prolong life is like waiting for death in a horrible body then no. My religion encourage science and if it do exist then yes I will participate in it as much as I could. Many brilliantine minds who would help humanity will benefit us if they live healthy long enough. I do except the idea but with the technology right now I guess it is going to be long way to success.
I would like to know these 5 creatures. First time hearing it and I dont buy it. Nothing is immortal except God which is from a religious point of view.

Well buy it cause here is the list and do Google them later for more information : Tardigrades Hydra Turritopsis nutricula Planarian flatworms I think there was one more but, i cant find that right now. Enjoy!
Will I guess you are right about the aging process for these animals but still they reproduce cells and all. But I wont call it a real immortality it is Biological immortality means they can be killed. Still, it is related to the video subject and am grateful for the information. Now they need a way to make human body function like these animals and am guessing it is almost impossible.Even if its impossible today you can still get frozen down with Cryonics and be revived when it is. And of course not to mention that scientists already have succesfully reversed the aging process in mice. Their body, physiology and genome share many features with our own.I like this word alot snice it doesnt proof anything if you put it in a sentence. ( Claim ). [ Scientists claim to be a step closer to reversing the ageing process after rejuvenating worn out organs in elderly mice. ] Also the good question Tom Kirkwood asked [ "The key question is what might this mean for human therapies against age-related diseases?] Anyway it is good to talk to you and this is really helpfull debate but still there is nothing related to humans yet. Will wish you luck in life. WOW, THIS GUY SHOULD BE A MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKER ! WHAT GREAT NEWS HES BRINGING AND HES SO EXCITED BY IT! KEEP THE AMAZING NEWS COMING SIR!Thanks for your kind words! I do hope you are a subscriber to my channel since I have made loads of videos and keep adding...Cancer is a collection of hundreds of different conditions, with similar characteristics but different genetic stories.
Cancer is a collection of hundreds of different conditions, with similar characteristics but different genetic stories.

Well we are able to clone dead animals by fusing a nucleus from a frozen adult cell taken before death, with an unfertilised egg from which the nucleus has been removed. Done in sheep some years ago.
humans are developing technology i bet soon we will be able to bring people back to life maybe not soon but eventually maybe eons from now but eventually. Sorry Adrain I disagree. After a couple minutes cells are dead and are not replaceable. Perhaps cloning a dead person thats possible but not bringing someone back to life. Thats only in movies. Preventing death sounds more realistic. That's just evolution for you. Even our life expectancy now is absurdly high considered what it was a few centuries ago but it's a slow change and we adapt to it as we adapt to everything else. With people living longer, people will be healthier into older ages than now, which will raise the retirement age and so on and so forth.
Please get in touch with me ASAP. I want to regenerate some of my teeth. Tim Leahy Phone: 630-303-9833.
aging is just accumulated damge...its whether we as humans can come together and tackle this accumulated damage in time ;).
The aging was induced by blocking telomerase in the mice. No one thinks that telomerase therapy is the sole key to immortality, but it will likely be a necessary one. DNA repair technology is probably the most important development we need.
its here but there are too many ppl in the world they would rather bring the populace down then slow down ageing think about it.
it's now 2011 i hope in the not so distant future we will find something that will actually slow it down "ageing", because every day we live is a day closer to dying.
Of course people will still die from war, homocide, suicide, accidents etc. Then of course theres space travel. Which is getting cheaper.
2 MultiLovemusic101 You may want to grow old, but i bet youre in a minority group.I for one would love to have the vitality of youth again. You are still young so you would'nt know what its like to have constant pain or memory loss and other things associated with ageing, so untill you are another 30 years older you are not qualified to make such brash comments, good job and good luck to those who are trying to stop ageing.

i am reminded of an old saying when i hear people say we cannot reverse the ageing process, and that is ,what the mind of man can concieve he will achieve. Why therefore can't we as intelligent as we are work out a cure for ageing? I myself have theories on how to reverse it only thing is i dont have to knowledge to put it forward. But i still do not give into the idea that we are just meant lay down and either. For all we know this maybe a test to see how intelligent we can actually get.
yer but as long as your on the planet in a way your still going to get older as every day passed know what i mean ,we cant stay young forever because of time itself if we were in space we would stay young because no time in space.
It will also be a world with wars. Overpopulation will become a problem much faster, and if old age isn't killing people off then they'll have to kill off each other, it seems to me. Unless we also develop the technology and energy to start shipping people to other worlds, an unlikely but possible outlet imho.

Studies have shown Underpopulation is a problem among advance technological nations. People have fewer kids and much later in life (esp. among the middle class). Alot of it has to do with the lifestyle. As a side benefit reversing aging will also cut the cost of rising health care costs.
You don't need a study to realize that if no one is dying, the earth is going to get full. The "studies" you refer to obviously aren't assuming an immortality scenario. Studies and Statistics can be manipulated to fit the discussion, and it sounds like you are doing that. I do agree with you that reversing aging should help the health care arena, assuming that the aging reversal itself isn't too costly :). There is such thing as birth control, death by accident, war etc. Studies are not suppose to "assume" anything. ('Total population counted') There is no "manipulation of studies and statistics to fit the discusion". Its been well known for decades. Please do some population research. Any academic researcher studying population will tell you that. Its happening in all highly technical advance nations (U.S. being the few exception due to high immigration).Ok, You either do not understand me or else you are obsessed with the fact that developed nations are seeing underpopulation. To that point, I wholeheartedly agree with you. Instead, what I am saying is that if we significantly stop or reduce aging, then we will see overpopulation. By "signficantly" I mean that we extend the average lifespan 50+ years (maybe 1000 years?). If we do that, war and/or significant hardship will be inevitable. The studies you refer to have nothing to do with that. "..what I am saying is that if we significantly stop or reduce aging, then we see overpopulation." Life expectency of people living in the developed world are already greater than those among the third world. The developed world does not have an over population problem. If anything the studies hints that people if given a choice do not want children. What if.. what if.. Of course government would then need to step in. birth control patch etc.
Theres a web article you might want to read from the net. Title: "UN Warns of Underpopulation Woes in Developed Countries".

if people have the choice of not growing old, im sure that many will choose to have children later in life. 2nd of all, poverty is the biggest cause of overpopulation. Places which are impoverished generally have extremely high birthrates. Correct me if im wrong, but the global poverty levels have been dropping, especially in Asia which also has caused a decline in birth rates. To make the earth support more people, we would need more renewable energy, and adapt vertical farming.

We are moving towards a renewable energy future as well as adapting vertical farming. the by far biggest burden of a higher population is that oil is depleting, fossil fuels are indeed finite, and there is limited land for horizontal farming. That is why we are currently headed in the direction of renewables, nuclear(still heavily contraversal) and better system of farming. I doubt that the population will "explode" when aging is defeated. Since poverty is the main driver of pop growth.
scientist cant cure acne, cancer, or a shit ton of other dieases but they think they can cure aging, the only cure for aging is death.
why find the cure for AIDS or something if youre not goanna find the cure for aging; if AIDS wont kill the infected person, aging surely will! better off finding the cure for aging cause that is the no.1 killer disease.
Thanks for the nice video, I agree with your point of view, I have also found an ebook where you can download free ebook on anti-agging and good health. facebook. com/pages/Mens-Anti-Aging-Secr-ets/123610847707781? ref=ts.
Is there a way to get my age go down to like maybe under 12 after I retire to repeat my K-12 education because I'm currently having this problem with my mom about this. Is there a way for this?
You can't really stop aging but you can definitely slow it down with good health habits, diets, exercises and supplements. If you are interested, you can get a free anti-aging ebook. Just pm me ;).
